The EV1 was such a cool product, created by the power of state mandates, and killed by the reversal of those same mandates by corporate greed. Came out in the 90s and was incredibly well received, but the feds stepped in and told California to fuck all the way off with their EV mandate. Too much potential to disrupt the oil market, I suppose. I always wonder where we'd be today if EV's continued to get developed by the supposed 'free market' instead of innovation being stifled in the name of short-term profits. Sigh.
